"New EP Release + How Art Becomes Functional"

Hi,

Welcome to the first edition of my newsletter. Thanks for being here. I'll be using this space to share updates about music, projects, and any insights I have into the creative process along the way.

Two updates to kick things off:

  1. REMNANTS 1 EP - Out Now!

    Part of the REMNANTS 1 cover designed by @mrsolonly and myself.


    My EP just dropped today - 4 tracks of energetic electronic bass music. I love all of them equally but ‘BLOOM’ is my favorite because I love it more equally 🙂.

    The Remnants series showcases tracks created while developing my sound - combining dance and bass music in a way that crushes live while maintaining artistic depth. These four tracks represent the first steps in that direction, and I can't wait to play them at shows.

    The project features artwork designed in collaboration with @mrsolonly, capturing the spirit of these tracks and my vision at the moment and he absolutely KILLED it. Took everything in my head and made it real. BIG shoutout to him.

    Note: Artist pages on Spotify and Apple Music are being claimed, but the music is available everywhere now. I’ve included links at the end of this newsletter.


  2. I just dropped a voice memo on my YouTube discussing how closely related art is to “function”.

    In long: The possibilities of art and creating are infinite, however to actual finish things and finish great things you need to abandon this infinity and get very very specific about what you're doing. Only through this specificity and clarity can you really nail what you're trying do and only at that point can you start subverting them to create actually unique and "innovative" results.

    In short: learn the rules to break the rules.

  • Music I’m writing

  • Any takeaways or useful frameworks from the creative process that I feel can help people with their own work

I’ve got ideas on what I’ll be doing over the next couple months and I’m excited to put it together and share with you all.
